Leading spa relies on Hanovia UV to keep its spring water pure
Hanovia UV disinfection systems are now treating nine pools, including the UK’s largest floatation pool, at Nirvana Spa in Berkshire. Nirvana Spa is one of the UK’s most prestigious spa facilities, frequented by elite athletes and celebrities.
There are currently nine pools, each filled with pure spring water drawn from 700 feet beneath the ground. Each pool is treated with a Hanovia UV system: Pulse-8, the Surf Room, the Roman Room, the Plunge Pool, the Relaxation Pool, the Fitness Pool, the Celestial Floatation Pool, the outside Mini Spas and the outside Deck Level Pool.

How to Ensure a UV in Water Treatment System Works Effectively?
UV in water treatment (ultraviolet radiation) is being used increasingly to provide an additional barrier to the passage of pathogens in both water and wastewater treatment plants. While chlorine has been the disinfectant of choice since the early 1900s, the recognition of the protozoan pathogens Cryptosporidium and Giardia as possible contaminants of both water and wastewater has rewritten the rule books. Cryptosporidium and Giardia are not controlled by chlorine at the doses that are typically able to be used in the water industry. They are, however, killed efficiently by UV in water treatment; however, UV in water treatment systems have to be carefully specified to ensure the final barrier is effective. more »
Ultraviolet Disinfection Is A Breath Of Fresh Air For New Zealand Indoor Pools
Air and water quality at the Franklin Sport Swim and Fitness centre’s two indoor pools in New Zealand has been transformed since the owners installed two Hanovia ultraviolet disinfection systems. Combined chlorine (chloramine) levels in the 25 metre main pool and the children’s pool are now below 0.2ppm and the operators are also making significant savings on water replacement.
